How to Make Yourself Follow Through With The Power of Leverage

I want to first share with you a personal story of mine, which I think it will serve as a good example to illustrate the power of getting leverage on yourself.

A few years ago, I wasn’t too happy with my physique. I decided to start going to the gym and eating healthy. During the process, I invested time into studying nutrition and how to properly lift weights. I was well motivated, I pushed myself hard at the gym and stuck to much disciplined diet. I began to see results, which made me feel great and motivated me further.

Of course, that didn’t last. I began losing motivation, and started cheating on my meals. Within the course of a month, I was back to where I started. Zero motivation, making a million excuses why I can’t go to the gym, and eating complete junk. The worst part was, I didn’t even feel that bad about it. I was back to where I previously felt comfortable, so why change?

The Importance of Reading: A Habit of Learning

Humans are an intelligent species, and we exchange information about anything and everything through various mediums. Whether the content is simply entertaining or informative, we are ultimately learning and experiencing something new, all the time. We are limited, unfortunately. We simply don’t have enough time and energy to experience the world in its entirety first hand. The next best thing is our ability to learn from the environment, through second-hand experience. Essentially, this is the ability to learn from the experience of others and acquire them as our own.
